Nathan became the first Dutch driver to take victory in the Open 4WD Pro category of RallyX. At the sunday event at the Montalegre track in Portugal, Nathan drove perfectly in the semi-final and final to avoid the carnage and grab the victory. A standout performance in a dramatic final, which was red-flagged following a spectacular crash involving Casper Jansson.
“We were lucky enough to get a test session with Kevin Abbring at Valkenswaard before the RallyX season began. That allowed us to make some key changes to the setup, which really helped build my confidence heading into Montalegre. Since then, we’ve only made a few small tweaks—the car’s already performing really well, and that’s a huge boost for what lies ahead. I think the FC2s are a bit quicker than us on the straights, but in the corners I feel we can catch up and even gain time on them”
Firmly establishing himself as one to watch, Ottink made no secret of his excitement at being part of the RallyX scene.
“The atmosphere this weekend was just amazing. Seeing such a huge crowd turn out for this event—it’s incredible. It really feels like Rallycross is coming alive again, and I’m thrilled to be part of it.”
